British actor Colin Firth believes the forthcoming film of musical Mamma Mia will be a big hit in the UK.The star, who appears in the movie based on Abba's music alongside Meryl Streep and Julie Walters, admitted that he wasn't a fan of the Swedish band until he became involved with the project. He said: "I wasn't a fan of Abba at all before we started shooting this movie. But its very hard to resist the songs once they get going particularly when you see the sheer kind of energy and exuberance that is delivered in the film."Even if you roll your eyes at the first bar or two, I think you have to be a very churlish person to be resisting by the end of any of the songs."Mamma Mia uses Abba's music to tell the story of a 20-year-old English girl who is set to marry her fiancé but wants to learn the identity of her father so he can give her away at the wedding.Colin added: "I think the film will be very, very popular but I don't think people will battering down the door to get me singing again."Mamma Mia is out in UK cinemas on July 3.
